The Opportunities and Miniship Division at GearUp Africa is crucial in identifying and preparing our program participants to secure highly coveted roles across the globe. Our goal is to equip them with the necessary tools and resources to excel in recruitment processes, including interviews and case study sessions.

- Education: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, or a related field
- Experience: Prior experience in program coordination, volunteer management, or a related field. Familiarity with the finance sector and its recruitment processes is highly desirable.
- Resource Management Skills: Proficiency in organizing, updating, and maintaining educational and preparatory resources.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide students through their career preparation journey.
- Integrity and Professionalism: Embrace and embody the values of GearUp, ensuring all processes and interactions reflect our core principles.
- Availability: Able to commit a minimum of eight (8) hours weekly.
Primary Responsibilities
Your role on the team will be highly instrumental to our success. As the Career Tracks Coordinator, you will be pivotal in shaping the futures of undergraduates. Here is a scope of the responsibilities we expect you to fulfill;
Resource Management:
- Ensure that folders for each career track are well-populated with up-to-date resources for interview and case study preparation.
- Regularly review and update resources to reflect current trends and requirements in the finance sector.
- Regularly track and keep updated a file on all the questions asked to any of our analyst in their actual interview processes to serve as resource for others
Program Coordination:
- Facilitate and monitor periodic student meetings focused on career track preparation.
- Guide students in effectively utilizing interview slots and other preparatory opportunities.
Student Engagement and Support:
- Act as a point of contact for students requiring guidance on their chosen career tracks.
- Encourage and motivate students to actively engage in their self-preparation processes.
Collaboration and Reporting:
- Work closely with other coordinators and departments within GearUp to align the career tracks with overall program objectives.
- Provide regular updates and reports on student progress and program effectiveness to the relevant department heads.
