The Public Relations division at GearUp Ghana is pivotal in sharing the organization's initiatives with stakeholders, ensuring they remain informed, educated, and encouraged to support GearUp's efforts.
About the Role
Qualifications
While qualifications are essential, what we prioritize most for success in this role are passion, commitment, and a genuine interest in this cause.
- Passion and Commitment: A genuine interest in the mission and vision of GearUp Ghana. Willingness to learn, adapt, and contribute actively to the organization's goals.
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field is preferred. However, students currently enrolled in these programs or individuals with relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
- Experience: Previous experience in PR, media relations, or similar roles is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Technical Skills: Basic understanding of social media platforms and their specific audiences. Familiarity with website management and basic web design tools. Proficiency in graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders. Strong team player with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Brand Awareness: An understanding of brand management and the importance of maintaining brand integrity.
- Availability: Able to commit a minimum of seven (7) hours weekly
- Integrity and Professionalism: Uphold the values and principles of GearUp and ensure all communications align with the organization's brand and goals.
Primary Responsibilities
Your role on the team will be highly instrumental to our success. As the head of the Public Relations division, you need to be proactive and take initiative whilst managing your team to achieve set goals. Here is a scope of the responsibilities we expect you to fulfill;
Leadership and Strategy:
- You will lead the development and implementing of a strategic PR plan aligned with GearUp Ghana's organizational goals and vision.
